Strike requirement to file campaign reports with election administrators

  1. The following was sent to Senator Malek:

    Senator Malek,
Missoula County supports Senate Bill 151 - Strike requirement to file campaign reports with election administrators, before Senate State Administration this afternoon. SB 151 would remove the local elections office from the campaign finance picture which would eliminate confusion. Candidates or campaign treasurers mistakenly file original statements and monthly reports with our elections office which if gone unnoticed could jeopardize their candidacy by not meeting deadlines with the Commissioner of Political Practices. Removing the local elections office would allow our staff to direct all campaign finance questions and statements directly to the Commissioner of Political Practices. Please support SB 151.
    Respectfully,
Vickie Zeier on behalf of the Missoula County Commissioners
