Sent to Representative Olsen 1/12/2015: Representative Olsen, Our Human Resources director Patty Baumgart noticed what might be a discrepancy in the proposed bill as it relates to taking paid leave. On page 8 line 29 of the bill the inserted language is "(4) Receipt of vacation leave or paid time off leave by a worker may not affect the worker's eligibility for 30 temporary total disability benefits." We would propose if there is a conflict it read "(4) Receipt of vacation leave or paid time off leave by a worker may not affect the worker's eligibility for 30 temporary total disability benefits, except as provided by 39-71-736 (3)" since use of paid sick leave is restricted unless provided under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement. Apologies for catching this so close to your hearing. Please let me know if you have any questions or if we can be of assistance. Best, Anne
