Missoula County's tracking mechanism for legislation proposed at the 64th session of the Montana Legislature.
Jeff Seaton:This would have no impact on PHC since all drugs are dispensed in our in-house pharmacy. That said, in a broader scope, this bill is not supported by the Montana Pharmacy Association from a public safety perspective. The feeling is this would bypass a variety of extra safety steps and standards required currently of pharmacists. And, the bill does nothing to detail the kinds of protocols physicians would need to follow in order to ensure the safe dispensation and inventory measures required of pharmacies.
While the Montana Association of Health Care Purchasers (MAHCP) opposes HB 271, in current form, Missoula County does not support or oppose this bill.
