HB 342

LC0139
Bryce Bennett
Allow for electronic address confirmation for biennial absentee ballot list

  1. Sent to Representative Bennett:

    Representative Bennett,

Missoula County supports House Bill 342 - Allow for electronic address confirmation for biennial absentee ballot list, before House State Administration tomorrow morning, and thanks you for carrying the bill. While many voters' mailing and residential addresses may change several times a year, their email address tends to remain the same. By emailing electors the absentee list and address confirmation, the county is able to find significant savings in paper and postage costs. This bill would allow for us to continue to mail confirmation notices to voters who may not have online access, and provide the option for electronic confirmation for those who do. Online correspondence is an emerging practice and being able to stay in communication with voters who are constantly on the move ensures our county voter list information is accurate. Please support HB 342.

    Respectfully,
Vickie Zeier on behalf of the Missoula County Commissioners
