This bill was submitted at the request of the Montana Association of Clerks of District Court. It provides for publication costs incurred by the clerk of court for publishing the notice of hearing on a petition to change irrigation district boundaries, are to be paid by the petitioner. Due to lack of clarity in statute, this cost has fallen solely with the clerk of court. This bill now provides for the clerk of court to recover the cost for publication from the petitioner.
